Purpose

I wanted to create this blog to share my process of learning about where our food comes from, why meat, dairy, and eggs should not be consumed, the mask over people's eyes of the commercialization of these products and why they are "good" for us, among other reasons.

Last year, 2012, I saw Food Inc. for the first time which helped push me to go vegetarian. Growing up, I ate a lot of vegetarian food, however my parents would BBQ steak and chicken over the summers. It wasn't too hard of a process for me to give up meat like it might be for others. I went completely vegetarian on January 1st, 2012 and have been ever since. I watched Forks over Knives in early February of this year which illustrated the importance of giving up dairy and eggs as well.

Lately I have been inspired by a Ted Talk for doing 30 day challenges and the combination of writing down what I eat every day, taking pictures of what I eat, creating a documentary, and challenging the public to learn where their food really comes from and what they are consuming.

This blog is dedicated to my process of better eating.
